The Nutcracker Ristori Theater Tickets November 23rd and 24th Teatro Ristori Verona December 1st Corso Theater Mestre (VE) The “Balletto di Verona” returns to the stage on Saturday 23 November at 8.30 pm and Sunday 24 November at 4.30 pm at the Teatro Ristori in Verona and December 1st at the Teatro Corso in Mestre with “The Nutcracker”, a classical repertoire ballet in two acts with music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with choreography by artistic directors Eriberto Verardi and Anna Guetsman based on Petipa and Ivanov. The Nutcracker is one of the masterpieces of classical dance and represents the famous trilogy together with the two works considered icons of dance, “Swan Lake” and “Sleeping Beauty”, both written by the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographed by the French Maestro Marius Petipa. The ballet inspired by the story by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann tells of a young girl (Clara) who receives a Nutcracker in the form of a toy soldier as a Christmas gift and when she falls asleep she dreams of him transforming into a beautiful young man who defends her from imaginary fights between mice and soldiers, becoming her hero. He will guide her into a fantasy world, into the kingdom of sweets where there will be a series of dances that make up the famous Divertissement of the second act. These courses are supported by stage experiences, which prepare students for professional careers. ​ The school also offers preparatory courses for children aged 4 and up, advanced courses for students aged 18 to 20 from other schools, and amateur courses for dance enthusiasts who do not aspire to become professionals. Furthermore, the Balletto di Verona organizes a summer course open to both internal and external students, which is held every July. ​ Over the years, several students of the school have won prizes in national and international competitions and have been admitted to prestigious ballet academies around the world, as well as having signed contracts with notable European dance companies. Meet Our Team Eriberto Verardi Founder & Artistic Director Anna Guetsman Deputy Artisitc Director and Teacher Cristina Bonutti Teacher completes his dance studies in Reggio Emilia with Maestro Marinel Stefanescu. In 1985 he began his career as a solo dancer at the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb. ​ In 1991 he was a solo dancer in the company of Slovenian National Theater in Ljubljana. ​ In 1993 at the Landestheater in Salzburg in Austria. ​ From '94 to 2000 at the Stadttheater of St. Gallen in Switzerland where he became principal dancer, assistant choreographer and deputy director. ​ He dances practically the entire classical repertoire and choreographies by modern authors, such as Kilyan, Schilling, Sparemblek and others. In recent years there have been several tours that take him to dance on important stages such as the Bolschoi in Moscow, the Mariinsky in St. Petersburg, the Ukrainian National Theater in Kiev, as well as in many European countries and in Brazil and Latin America. ​ In 2000 he was invited by Carla Fracci and Beppe Menegatti as Maitre de ballet and assistant choreographer at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma where he remained until 2005 and where he collaborated with international dance stars such as C. Fracci, R. Bolle, S. Zakarova , N. Tsiskarisde, I. Yebra, L. M. Cullum, S. Noja, T. Rojo. ​ At the Rome Opera he stages most of the classical repertoire ballets from Giselle to Sleeping Beauty, from The Sylph to Swan Lake, as well as ballets by the choreographers L.Cannito, L.Veggetti, F. Franzutti, P. Chalmer and others. ​ In 2003 and 2004 he will return to tour again in Russia in Moscow with the ballets Sheherazade, Firebird and Rite of Spring as Maitre de ballet with the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. ​ In 2005 he was invited to the Bunka Kaikan Theater in Tokyo as choreographer and assistant director of the opera Adriana Lecouvreur. 13th Edition Summer Course from 30 June to 25 July 2025 Summer Course The Balletto di Verona Summer Course, which is now in its 13th year, is an intensive dance program aimed at young male and female dancers aged 8 and above structured into various levels who wish to perfect their technique and enjoy an immersive training experience. This course offers the opportunity to study with qualified teachers and industry professionals in a stimulating and enriching environment. ​ Duration and Period - The course lasts four weeks and you can choose to attend weekly. Participants will be divided into courses: beginners, intermediate and advanced. - Each week is structured with an intensive program of daily lessons from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday Study Levels - The Summer Course is open to dancers of different levels, from those with an intermediate base to the advanced, who wish to perfect themselves in a highly professional context. - Students are divided into groups based on age and technical skills, to ensure that each one receives teaching suited to their abilities. ​ Study Programme - Classical Dance : The heart of the course is classical dance, with daily lessons in barre technique, center technique, en pointe technique for girls and male technique for boys. - Classical Repertoire : Students have the opportunity to study and interpret variations taken from ballets of the great repertoire, such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Giselle, Talisman, Paquita, Bayadere, Nutcracker etc. - Contemporary Dance : Alongside classical dance, the program includes contemporary dance classes, which help students develop fluidity, body expression and explore modern styles. - Character Dance : the course offers the study of character dance, which enriches classical training with stylistic elements typical of folk and traditional dances, a now rare subject studied in very few international academies including the Balletto di Verona - Floor Barre : Floor exercises to improve flexibility, strength and body awareness. ​ Teachers and Special Guests - The Summer Course is led by teachers from the Centro Professionale Balletto di Verona, often supported by internationally renowned guest masters. The Company The Balletto di Verona Company was born as a natural consequence of the professional courses of the school itself. The need to give the most deserving and talented students direct experience on stage, essential to be able to face the career of professional dancers. Since 2014, several productions have been performed in Italian theatres, achieving great success among both critics and the public, with a repertoire ranging from classical to neoclassical and with choreographies by Anna Guetsman and Eriberto Verardi revived by the great Maestro Marius Petipa. Pre Accademic Course The Pre-Academic Course is a training program aimed at young aspiring dancers who wish to develop a solid foundation in classical dance and prepare for an academic or professional career. It is designed for children and young people generally from 7 years old divided into groups by age and technical level. The course aims to provide solid technical preparation in classical dance, accompanied by exercises aimed at developing strength, flexibility, musicality and correct posture.
